A Swiss and Sudanese national, started off his career in Sports Marketing and Event Management with the National Basketball Association. His next move was to BT Alex.Brown, which later became Deutsche Bank. He was primarily involved in Alternative Investments, focusing on private equity and venture capital. He was part of a specialized unit in New York and Geneva (and later London, Paris, Manama, Tokyo, and San Francisco) raising equity financing for US, European, and emerging market private equity fund managers, as well as for direct investments in private. Mr. Mandil’s function as Vice President within this group extended from overall coverage of the Swiss market (covering investors as well as fund and investment managers) as well as the Middle East, mainly in the GCC countries. More recently he has worked in Zurich with Cantor Fitzgerald, the global financial services firm, helping them establish their Swiss operations. Currently, he is working as an independent financial advisor, assisting clients in identifying, reviewing and investing in private placement, equity and debt opportunities in Africa. Mr. Mandil pursued studies in Management and Computing at the University of Kent at Canterbury in the UK as well as Business and Marketing at Webster University, Geneva. He speaks English, French, Arabic, Spanish and Italian. M. Mandil collaborates with Swaye Capital Management on on many projects/deals.
Victoria Isabelle Kay
Victoria is the co-founder of Kay&Kobia, a boutique consultancy firm that specialises in creative network building, tailored business development and social media strategies, as well as fundraising. Victoria is a talented connector building on an extensive network of strategic and creative partners to form long-lasting partnerships and collaboration opportunities, especially between Switzerland and East Africa. Trained in International Affairs and International Health, Victoria has worked with all sectors, both at the global coordination and field levels, providing her with first-hand exposure to barriers and challenges in building effective fundraising mechanisms, PPPs, as well as Monitoring and Evaluation systems. Victoria is a Swiss-British national who was born and raised on Lake Geneva. Victoria holds a BA Hons. from Cambridge University and an MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Kay&Kobia is a member of the Swiss African Business Circle. Ms. Kay collaborates with Swaye Capital Management on on many projects/deals.
Klaus von Doderer
Klaus von Doderer is of Austrian nationality. He has over 20 years of experience in international & private banking in diverse roles. He started of his career in Banque Bruxelles-Lambert, Geneva, on the FX-trading floor. His initial commodities experience came at Banque Leu (Genève) SA, where he focused on precious metals- trading, soft commodities-trading, and was also a member of the treasury group. Hired at British Bank of the Middle East, Geneva Branch, to develop 2nd generation of FX-Options, developing currency hedgingstrategies for HNWI’s clients and the bank’s yearly profits, after a training at the Forex- & Option-Desk of Midland Bank in London. Taken over by HSBC, he occupied senior operational roles in Geneva. This was followed by senior level positions in independent Asset Mangament companies. Off late, he has focused his efforts on commodities trading-intermediation and works closely with Swaye Capital Management. After his college years in Munich, Germany he obtained a Swiss Commercial Diploma in St Gall. He also attended CFA courses, Financial Analyst in Geneva.
An Ethiopian citizen, he has experiences in fields as diverse as business administration, retail operations, project management (mainly for NGO projects), and social and baseline research, and communications. He is currently working as project-manager for a Canadian NGO. Aside from his work with Ibis-NGO, Mr. Abate has also founded Eccos Consultrix, a management consultancy firm specializing in servicing different types of business organizations, and conducting market studies and feasibility analysis. Prior to founding Eccos Consultrix, Theodros had undertaken a number of consultancy assignments, namely with UN Agencies and some NGOs. He has worked with the UNFPA Liaison Office in Addis Ababa, UNAIDS and Poverty Action Network of Civil Society organizations in Ethiopia (PANE), the Conference of NGOs before the UN (CONGO), Swiss-Peace Foundation, Medecins-Sans-Frontieres (MSF): France and Switzerland, and some private enterprises, mostly based in Addis Ababa. Mr. Abate has an undergraduate Bachelor-of-Arts-Degree (BA-Degree) in Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) from Addis Ababa University, a Masters’ of Arts Degree in Retail Operations from Sikkim Manipal University in India. M. Abate works mainly with Swaye Global Ventures, and is the East African representative for the company and our on the ground resource.
